Our schools have re-opened!
Our managing trustee, Dr Ravi, visited all of the Life Aid Centre schools in December. The schools re-opened nearly twenty months after the first lockdown. All of the staff and children were very happy to return to school activities. The Covid pandemic had caused damage both financially and mentally. Motivational sessions were arranged to help them recover from their experiences.

We asked you to donate £10 to support a child's education. The Life Aid Centre schools were struggling this year with the pandemic crisis and needed help to buy books for this academic year. Just £10 would pay for one child's school books for a year.
With your help, we raised £1145.

ABOUT OUR CHARITY
Children in Hope (CIH) is a small UK registered charity based in Gateshead, North East of England.
Children in Hope supports children with cerebral palsy, hearing and learning disabilities, the physically disabled and other disadvantaged children from the rural villages of Tiruvallur and Arakkonam Taluk of Tamil Nadu in Southern India.
Our charity supports these children through special education programmes. Speech training is provided for deaf children, physiotherapy for children with cerebral palsy and vocational training to promote future independence.
REACHING REMOTE CHILDREN
We work in difficult and volatile areas, which are neglected by most organisations.
We spent a lot of time working in the most poverty stricken areas of rural India and have gained an understanding of which areas mostly need our help , predominantly rural Tamil Nadu.
TRAINING THE COMMUNITY
We are all professional people, who volunteer our time and skills to train the communities to be self sufficient in delivering healthcare, education and various training schemes for the disabled communities, whilst providing continuous professional support.
We provide on-site training for parents of disabled children and for local people to acquire skills specific to their requirements.
ACTIVITIES
We are actively involved in educational and sporting projects, which are linked to our partner schools and the communities which they serve.
We strive to maintain strong personal links with our partner agencies, ensuring life long bonds between our members and the children.
