Children in Hope (CIH) is a small UK registered charity based in Gateshead, North East of England
Children in Hope supports children with cerebral palsy, hearing and learning disabilities, the physically disabled and other disadvantaged children from the rural villages of Tiruvallur and Arakkonam Taluk of Tamil Nadu in Southern India.
Our Charity supports these children through special education programmes. Speech training is provided for deaf children, physiotherapy for children with cerebral palsy and vocational training to promote future independence.

Making a difference
Since 2013, Children in Hope has been working hard on the advancement of education for disabled children in the Tiruvallur district in South India. While there is always more that can be done to help those in need in this community, we are making a difference.

LIFE AID CENTRE
CIH is also an umbrella organisation that supports the schools of Life Aid Centre (LAC), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) situated in Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu in Southern India.
Life Aid Centre (LAC) was founded by Dr R. Ravi in 1991 to deliver services to the disabled and disadvantaged children in the rural villages of Tamil Nadu. LAC also works hard to educate the disadvantaged people through various health, education and awareness programmes in the Tiruvallur district.
Children in Hope support the educational development programmes of Life Aid Centre for the disabled in particular by supporting the charitable work of Mother Teresa Memorial Residential school for the deaf and learning disability children in Tiruvallur district and Shrine Velankanni primary school in Parameshwaramangalam village in Arokkonam Taluk in Southern India.

Our aim is to help our partner organisation, ‘Life Aid Centre’ provide all aspects of care to the highest possible standards in the heart of rural India.
Our mission is to help all the disabled and poor rural children for a life change, empowering them to create a future that is secure, healthy and free from discrimination and poverty.
Our vision is a world in which every child in need attains excellent quality education, opportunity , skills and a bright future.
WHAT WE WANT
We want to improve our facilities.
The schools are located in small rented buildings with inadequate facilities.
We are working hard to raise funds to construct basic infrastructures like classrooms for the Primary school children, a boarding school for the deaf and children with learning disabilities so it becomes a home for the residential children, who are orphaned by parents no longer able to care for them, and a vocational training centre for older deaf children.
This will enable us to deliver a better level of care and education and improve the quality of life for these disadvantaged children.
